Biography:
It all begun somewhere in 1981., in the city of Split, when Dejan Katalenić was 13 years old, he was going together in class with his a bit older friend Jerko Bačić. Dejan had occasionally practice playing guitar in an assembly called Srdelice. One day Dejan invited Jerko to join him in an assembly to play drums, even he didn't know play them, so he reply to him that he will learn it. So they had fun at there sometime. Jerko met there two new friends Srečko Remetin Jovović and via him Marijo Kuzmić. After they play some gigs until the 5th month of 1982 and on the first day of May they formed heavy metal band Black Dog, named after Kuzmić favorite Led Zeppelin song. After which they still needed vocalist and they try first with Denis Gabrić, which was recommended by Dejan neighbour Damir Vrban. But he didn't sing well the song "Motori Motori" by band Divlje Jagode(Wild Strawberrys), so they rejected him and instead chose Vice Pavlov a Kuzmić best friend. But they get a photo with Gabrić before his trial of singing, which he later misused for claim that he formed his band Evil Blood on the same day as Black Dog, with the band members from that photo, and also after being rejected as singer, he buy Vrban guitar and forced Black Dog members to learn him to play, on which request Dejan accepted it, and learned him until 1989, after which Gabrić went to London. But lets get back on Black Dog history. So after they found the vocalist, the band was complete, and it was the most stable metal band in Split at that time, meaning that it didn't change band members so fast as others. They had played on 3 major concerts and that more or less only in 1983. That was on DORS(Dalmatinski Omladinski Rock Susreti/ Dalmatian Youth Rock Meetings) on which they play together with rock band Kineski Zid (China Wall), where they get 5 stars reward from critics of school press Omladinska Iskra. Then they had one concert on summer Kino Split and somewhere in September 1983. they had concert outside Split in Dubrovnik in Lazareti. Then they also play concert on TOK(Tehnički Omladinski Klub/Technical Youth Club (old technical school)). Other gigs were played only in some shit holes, because Gabrić band Evil Blood make a graffiti of pentagram on walls of SSO (Savez Socijalističke Omladine/Social Alliance Of Youth) which was behind every major concert, and because of that pentagram they forbidden further plays of English speaking bands, but band Black Dog had some connections in SSO so they played few more times on some other major concerts. The band Black Dog played songs mostly on English and except this 4 songs, they had some others own songs but sadly they didn't record them, and they also played covers by Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Motorhead and others. After that main gigs Vice and Srećko goes to army, after which arrives Davor Gradinski on bass and Kuzmić gets on vocal and drums after which they recorded these songs in Radio Split somewhere in 1983. before some Saxon concert. After which in 1984. Dean Bakota comes as vocal and Bojan Antolić Božo as Guitar to replace Jerko Bačić and as that lineup they stay until 1985. after which Gradinski went to band Osmi Putnik (Eighth Passenger) after which on the bass was puted Srečo Silić and after some time even Kuzmić and Antolić went to Osmi Putnik after which on drums come Veljko Radovniković and on guitar Igor Makić (he come in band because he prefer Dejan style more than commercial style like Osmi Putnik), which was previously in band Osmi Putnik and on vocal comes Dragan Kero and under that line up they play at some point of 1986. after which they decided to change they name in Redline.

Side Storys:

Vice Pavlov:
His bands before Black Dog were Mister Hok, named after character by comic named Mandark. After Black Dog, he went to band Hell Band, then in 84., at the band Frka. But none of them respected band members as band Black Dog and because of that he called those bands demo bands. After those bands he started to play commercial music to feed up his family.

Jerko Bačić (Fast Jere):
He didn't like to play metal, but he liked to play something that was then considered hard to play. So that's why he also tried to turn Black Dog music in to pop metal, but failed. During as a guitar player of Black Dog and also after, he was also present in some other bands, but he says that are not worry of being mention. After leaving those bands he plays only on party's, all until 2007., after which he started his own production studio.

Srečo Silić:
His first bands were Divlji Osmjeh, Reuma (1984.), then Vukojarac (2 years), playing in TOK,DORS,club Stop, festival in front of Konteks and etc., after that it comes in Black Dog/Redline. After it and after the army in 87., he makes cover band with Pupy and plays in Robin Hood till 93., after which it founds band named Ready Cool, in which he stays for 15 years and in meantime he plays with many others, whom he played a lot of live shows and currently it plays for already 4 years, in band Sreja & Kittens:

Dejan Katalenić (Dejo, Vinnie Witchcraft, Dean Harder):
Very talented at composing music, but also with a lot's of bad luck to find good lineup, production and labels. Many times happened that his material ended up in wrong hands. First time that happened with band Black Dog. The thing is, that Gabrić covered his song Night Rider as song named Watch Out For K.M. (Knight Rider) and also by collapse of Yugoslavia in 1991., their 4 demo songs presented here were sold to foreign labels, by which they lost possible earn of 23 million dollars. Also Dejan lost his boots by Gabrić, because he was borrowing him them from 83.-89., because Gabrić considered them magic and after Gabrić went to London, he didn't give him back all to this day. Dejan was a compositor of all songs, thru all of his bands and only some names were chosen by other band members. In Black Dog, he was nicknamed Dejo, in Witchcraft(88.-present) Vinnie Witchcraft, but he is mostly known under name Dean Harder.

Evil Blood, Denis Gabrić & some additional info of Black Dog:
After Dejan accepted to learn Denis Gabrić (mostly known today as Dennis Harris and Bat-Connan(his favorite cartoon character, he didn't know which to prefer so he chose both of them)) how to play guitar Gabrić formed band 3 months after the 1.5.1982. and he was the only band member of it all until 1983. he played guitar and vocals. It was named Zla Krv(Evil Blood but on Croatian, later they changed name to English version). The first other band members were Marino Šeparović "Šepi" on bass and drummer Mirjan Jovanović "Tošo" (Živo Blato, Osmi Putnik), Mirjan officially played in band just in 1983., but he jumped in sometimes in 84., and 85., because they were afoul players. Other guitar was played by Zoran Jukić and sometimes Saša Bulić(Stijene, Thompson).Their first music style was more hard rock with bits of heavy metal and their biggest inspiration was band Vatreni Poljubac (Fire Kiss) They had played in few major concerts like the band Black Dog. On DORS their drummer Mirjan was praised by band members of heavy metal band Crna Udovica(Black Widow) from Dubrovnik, they said that he is the biggest hope of his band, because others were very bad as mentioned before, but they also said that even he has some problems in playing drums. On that ocasion band Crna Udovica introduced a drummer of band Vatreni Poljubac to Black Dog members and on that concert one punker called Zamudi from public thrown some stones on Gabrić and he and his brother went in to fight with him in mud. That punker become a nice friend to band members of Black Dog even until present day. Then they also played in Dubrovnik in Lazareti as pregroup of Black Dog, were Dejan Katalenić played guitar for Gabrić, hidden behind the curtain so the public cant see that Gabrić didn't know to play guitar very well. After that concert they spent the night together with Black Dog at place of band members of Crna Udovica. Zla Krv also played at TOK. After all of those concerts they draw a pentagram graffiti on walls on SSO, after what all bands singing on English get banned to play on major concerts for few years, because they were organized by SSO. In 1984., after Mirjan was replaced by Toni Silobrčić as drummer and after that they changed their name in to English title Evil Blood and then "Šepi" was replaced by Pero Dorić on bass. In 1985. was a real time they started to play speed and thrash metal and then they recorded first demo with 4 songs and in 1987. another 5 songs. Those 9 songs ended up in demo album Midnight In Sodom Released in 1988. and that's all that they recorded until 1989. Those demos have been taken in Beograd, to one Label supported by Mirjan Jovanović, but that label rejected to publish those demos. Their song Carrie White Burn In Hell was a song originally composed by Mak Jovanović(Haron, Mortus,VIS Hemeroidi), but in original it was a ballad. That was more of less all, so as mentioned they didn't record any other demo beside Midnight In Sodom from 1988. and two demos before that but with same songs as on that demo, so there isn't any Ave Satanas from 1982., Empire Of Death from 1984. (songs 2.-7. are overdubbed play backs of Witchcraft which is another band by Dejan Katalenič) and not even any singles or live preforming anything as mentioned in compilation from 2008. named Best Of Djinn/Evil Blood 83.-86. Nothing not a single bit of it, it's all faked and of course Siniša Vuco also haven't been a member of Evil Blood, he only appears on one live as guest player in 2010. and Ivan Svalina also wasn't the member of Evil Blood, he isn't even the musician at all, just a nice friend of Gabrić. There is an additional story of faking Witchcraft songs in Witchcraft albums info. All of this information, which is has been said above, it's confirmed by all of its band members that were in that band, from 83.-89., (and other mentioned bands), of course except Gabrić, he still claims the opposite.
