Biography:
Band was found on Feb. 1986. by Dejan Katalenić (Lead Guitar) iniative, with other founders being, Igor Makić(Guitar), Srećko Silić(Bass Guitar), Dragan Kero(Vocal) & Veljko Radovniković(Drums). Redline was heavy metal band, inspired by Judas Priest & Iron Maiden. All songs have been composed by Dejan Katalenić & aranged together on rehearsals. Rehearsals were held in a residential building, on the 5th floor, on a daily basis. After 3 months of regular rehearsals, the band gets the chance to perform at the first and only guitar festival in cinema hall at Dugi Rat.As the only heavy metal band at the guitar festival, they attracted 20 (formerly) loyal followers and they experienced ovations. The rest of the audience, which usually is full of heavy metal prejudice, reacted positively, above all expectations. This initial success didn't have any positive impact on the future of the band: Srećko Silić stopped coming to the rehersals and the remaining four members made a demo in the studio, with 3 songs. On one rehersal, in July 1986, the same four members(without a bass player), recorded demo - 11 tracks on a two channel tape recorder. After a couple of days Igor Makić goes to the band Ponočni Ekspres (Midnight Expres), Dragan Kero stops coming to rehersals, after which Dejan and Veljko are trying to form a new band with guitarist Ilija Utrobičić and singer Feđa Bombardelli. However, Ilija Utrobičić's ideas do not seem to interest the other three band members. 1987 went on without a band reunion and in September, Veljko went to study in Zagreb, after which Redline was completely over.
